Hi all,
I've just successfully reclaimed my bank charges so am now going to be debt-free. I can't believe that in less than a year I will have paid off about £7000 largely due to the reclaim, but also by working a second job, being more frugal and careful, and really paying attention to our spending.
We are going to have a little holiday as haven't had one for 2 years and want to go before trying for another baby. We're also going to save for another car as current one is slowly falling apart.
I have vowed to keep up with the money saving, I think that having a kid has really given us a kick up the backside to be careful. Hopefully we can pay some money off the mortgage each month as well.
Thanks to all the advice given out there, you really make a difference.

Excellent news. Congrats.
I must say I misread your post and thought you said saving for a new cat as the current one was falling apart lol
Just remember the DFW way of life and use that cash you was paying out on clearing your mortgage or stick it in a savings account at a good interest rate and you will have peice of mind for the rest of your days.
good luck in the future
