After a very brief discussion we decided to pay it off the debt so now only £86 until i'm under the 19k mark :j
As soon as i'm @ 18...something, i will start my diary
To be honest, I would have bought the shopping next week with that money, not paid it off the debt. Paying £80 off such a huge figure, barely makes a dent in it and as it was a special gift from mum, that is why I would have bought with it, what she intended I bought with it, shopping. Just my thoughts ... (would she have given it had she known it would just be swallowed up in a 19k debt?)0 -
But then on the flip side - it was money you weren't expecting anyway so .........
Oooh - good to the diary starting - cos there is nothing on TV tonight & I can't afford to go out lol
Coco xThe final chapter - £4893 to go out of £30K0 -
Oh and I meant to say - don't worry about the demons in the cupboard , I have so many living in mine I may have to apply for planning permission for an extension to fit them all in :rotfl::rotfl:The final chapter - £4893 to go out of £30K0

I'm not sure what difference it makes, if she had used the £80 from MIL to pay for the shopping then her budgeted £80 for the shopping would have been surplus and gone to the debt anyway.
It's funny isn't it when you first have your LBM, you start thinking one windfall, one lotto win, one long lost relative inheritance would pay off my debts. Then when you start the debt free journey you are grateful for any small unexpected amount to chip away at the debt.
Keep going sista.Debt-Free day 30th September 20140 -

You've hit the nail on the head. LBM for me meant realising that I probably wasn't going to win the lottery or be presented with a cheque from my parents to pay everything off. Since then as you say, every little bit makes you feel so good. I've made 4 payments to a credit card so far this month, because I've shaved a bit off my budget here and there and each time I've wanted to pay down the credit card.
I never fail to be humbled and amazed at the things I read on this forum, especially from the DFWs.
Sista - you seem to have posted lots in the short time you've been on the site and all of your contributions are positive and motivating. Well done and thank you!DFBX2013: 021 :j seriousDFW £0 [STRIKE] £3,374[/STRIKE] 100% Paid off

Ooohhh where to start here lol
Firstly to suburbanwifey, i am fully aware that £80 will 'barely make a dent' in the 19k thankyou muchly i do not need reminding of it.... however as Moneymash quite rightly said i would've spent MIL £80 and shopping and put my £80 towards the debt :wall: so doesn't take a massive genius to work out there's no difference.
seriousDFW that's a lovely thing to say thankyou :kisses3:
And lastly coco (yes i know i shouldn't start a sentence with 'and':)) i'm with you on the extension thing (although mine would be a 2 storey)
