Wierd Fathers Day Cards

Now, I know I live close to the Cambridgeshire Fens but, I could almost here the hillbilly banjos this morning when I went in to our village chemist.

Why? Well I'll tell you. They had a display of Fathersday cards and to my amazement there was one that said "To My Husband On Fathers Day". My mind flashed back to the classic film "Deliverence" starring Burt Reynolds, John Voight, Ned Beatty and a bunch of wierdos.

I commented on the card to the very nice normal lady behind the counter, She laughed and said that she thought it was very wierd and hoped there wasn't one that said "To My Brother on Fathers Day".

I did have a look and was relieved to see there wasn't. That would have been a Banjo experience if they had. I did say to her if there had been one I would look out for canoes in the high street.

I know celebrations have been dumbed down so much these days in an effort to make us spend our hard earned money, but really, do we need this sort of claptrap.

Has anyone out there seen anything as awful as the cards I have mentioned. Please let us know so we can avoid them at all costs.

I also dislike the "to grandad on fathers day" ones. My sister always gets one for my dad from her children, I tell him that he will only be getting one from me and not my children.

Whilst I agree I know how much my dad likes to get a card from his grandchildren so I do it for him. does mean I have to get the FIL one too and I'm sure he isn't bothered really.

I always send both Grandad's a card. They help with advice and they are always there for me so why shouldn't they. I also send my Nan's Mother's Day cards.

We strange though in our family me & OH have 2 dogs and 6 cats and we send Mother's Day, Father's Day, Birthday & Chirstmas Cards to Mummy & Daddy plus they get cards on their Birthday's. They also send my family members birthday ect cards. They all have their own way of writing their names and they put their paw prints on there

    OMG we are lame! LMAO

One of my grandsons has no contact with his father at all, so always sends my OH a 'To Grandad on Fathers Day' card. Until his Mum & her brother had an argument and now don't speak, grandson always sent his uncle a 'You're like a Father to me' type card. It stopped grandson from feeling left out when his cousins & friends sent cards to their Dads.
