Companies actually learn! And these days they trawl the net like vilutures.

They don't need to trawl the net, a company like Accenture would have set up google alerts

You may not be caught, assuming you don't work for them (and if you do I really hope your name isn't Stephen, you aren't in Liverpool and you haven't tried this trick, because that certainly narrows the field of employees they are looking for - and I wonder what other personal stuff can be gleaned from your previous 260 posts that would narrow it down (further??)?.

Do you reckon that I should emigrate to avoid detection ;):rotfl:? or just resign with immediate effect ?:rotfl:;) or edit my 260 posts so they can't find me ?;) or is it still a mystery ?;):)

I just wish I could remember whether I took retirement, was made redundant, got VR, insourced back in, etc. to help. ?;):rotfl:
Just remember - employment law works on an employer having reasonable belief you did something - not proof or evidence.

Blimey will I sleep well tonight ?;):) but I reckon that I will !!:rotfl::rotfl:

Now going to watch the Dutch beat the Danes !:);)

For anyone working for Accenture, who is rated as being a low performer (i.e. bottom 10%) during their EOY laddering process, my advice is to make sure that you sign yourself off-sick with work-related stress for a few days. TBH you will probably be suffering from this without realising it if you are in this position; so you aren't being economical with the truth in reality.

There is a hidden rule within Accenture HR that means Accenture will then treat you with exceptional care and will not dismiss anyone (in the event that a person does not come off the PIP process within the 10 week timeline) that is suffering with this condition. If you are then put on a PIP, do exactly the same again.

You may have to see their Occupational Health referral people; probably still Grosvenor Health ! but hey just talk to them and say how you feel. You can also do a google search on 'work-related stress symptoms' for help.

They are playing a game with you. Make sure that you play the game back.

    HTHs.

They dont sound like a very nice company to work for, however, I guess if you live by the sword, you cant complain if you die by the sword.

For me, I hope you are dealt with appropriately, and your CV accurately reflects your employment record and why you left.

Sometimes you have to bite your tongue and comply and/or move on. Otherwise you may well end up with a tarnished employment record.

Still working for them :rotfl::j:beer: lol ;) !!
  • I'm ex Accenture too and guess which department? Yeah HR!!! You are right, in hindsight HR reps know very little about employment law.
See what they should know is that stress isn't covered under the equality act as a 'disability' but depression 'might' be, provided that it's lasted for over a year AND has a significant impact on day to day life. If they knew anything, they'd be inviting employees in for formal meetings as there's little risk involved re a discrimination claim.
If you think HR outsourcing reps are bad you should see consulting. They are all austrialian and have no experience of English employment law.

I agree - their HR reps really know very little about employment law.

Stress most certainly is covered under the Equaility Act 2010 if it meets the criteria for any disability. Disability does not go in inverted commas. And stress also kicks in a raft of other legislation including the Health and Safety at Work Act.

That said, no condition is a disability if you have signed yourself off work with it "for a few days" so I certainly wouldn't take the OP's advice either!

As Catbert in Dilbert says 'There's a H and an R in Who Cares'.

My advice for anyone experiencing poor treatment by their employer is always to find a company whose culture is much nicer.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catbert

I've been in a company before that wanted to make x% of their employees redundant so they reviewed all employees of certain grades on their performance and then sacked the bottom percentage. It was public knowledge of how the company decided their redundancy criteria so anyone who was made redundant had a potential black mark against them as usually roles are made redundant, not people, but these people were effectively publicly told they were useless.

My colleague was sacked this way, as an underachiever, and found no difficulty in getting a consultancy role with the big 5 in a higher role, which shows you that either his previous company couldn't tell talent when they see it or the consultancies can't either!

Then my boss tried to give me his senior work without any extra pay which I resisted. When I asked if I could be promoted to the new vacant role, I was told that I wouldn't get the salary that my other colleagues at that level were getting, just a 9% increase in my current wages. So I handed my notice in.

Seriously, who doesn't know that certain companies, or types of companies, do not really care about their employees. Some are completely notorious for their ruthless company cultures. To those who get sucked into these evil companies with unnecessary pressures and conditions, just get another bloody job - you aren't suited to it, don't be ashamed, move on.
