This is their euphemism for a secured loan, isn't it?
Quote: We consider everyone’s circumstances. At GE Money we firmly believe that previous financial difficulties, arrears or CCJs should not be a barrier to applying for a loan.
This means 'we charge twice the interest rate of everyone else and when you default we'll be straight in for repossession'
My experience of them is that I see them in court regularly in possesion hearings.0 -
I have an un-secured loan with them - they were/are First National who were/are owned by Abbey I think.
I'm doing a slef-managed DMP and they have been slow to respond to any letters I've sent them but did eventually agree to reduced payments etc They also sent me letters relating to people with my surname so I guess it was their way of chasing debts - or maybe they are just in-effecient!0 -
Yes their APR rates are sky high so try and stay away from them unless they can offer you a good rate. Is it for home improvements? I'm only asking this question as I have my windows fiananced with them and their APR rate at the time was 23.4% but after 1 yr I asked them for a settlement figure as I told them I had been offered a better rate from another company (calling their bluff) and the next thing I knew they offered me an APR rate of 11.9% there and then which I took. I know its still high but it was better than the original APR rate. I might try it again in the next few months to see what they offer.0
