IVA and Bank Accounts

Hi, I am currently 3 years in an IVA with Grant Thornton and need to apply for a new bank account. I have been looking at the Nationwide Building Society's Cashcard Account and was told they do not carry out credit checks nor do they ask whether you have an IVA. I have the application form and on it is a question about do you have an IVA and then the form says if you do they can't open this account. I have basically been told not to say I have an IVA for these sort of accounts to enable me to get one. Coop was recommended but can't go to them. All I want is a bank account that I can pay my wages into, debit card and direct debits, without having to pay a fee for it. Do they exist, please help. Thanks.

Not sure about your IVA but the way my cashcard+ account got opened was I applied for one of their normal bank accounts; they rejected my application but offered me a cashcard+. At this point I have only recently been discharged from BR0
