If the card is genuinely yours, why would you want to override it?
  • The card IS genuinely mine, what i object to is not having the choice.I have been shopping with them online for the last couple of years and have not had to do this before.I did not manage to get past this and was forced to input all the details thay required,it took an awful long time and i had problems with it and had to start all over again.I know many people will disagree with me on this, security and all that, but it is so frustrating when you just want to get your order through and over with.

You should try being with PayPal for a while.

Not only do they quite often get you to jump through hoops, some are flaming and some they make you strip naked first LOL

If it bothers you that much I would drop them an email and ask why suddenly they are asking you for verification when you have never been asked before.

It might be something they have been asked to introduce by the financial sector.
  • I have this everytime I use tesco. I've only had it once from another website and it did have the option to ignore it.

I've had this a few times in the last couple of weeks at various online sites and also had a leaflet in the post. I can't verify mine as when I put the details in it fails - think it is because I am a second cardholder on my husband's card. Next time I might try putting in his name in the details and see what happens.

Either way, I've always been given a 'later' option so if you don't want to do it then just click that.

I have had to do this for months, after the first time you only have to put in letters from your pass word ,it only takes a few seconds. I think it is a really good thing it proves you are the card holder , as a recent victim of internet card fraud (to the tune of £3,500) I think its a really good idea . I wish all sites would use it.

It's a new things banks have brought out to prevent fraud, it's been out for a few months. I think its a good idea, extra security.

PC World or is it Dixsons:think: have this mandatory verified by Visa thing that always trips me up at the last minute, so I refuse that card and use another one.

I complained to them & they say that the bank makes them ask me to log on to another site & register with Visa as a 'safekeeping', I object to this and don't use that card for transactions with them.

  • I've been having problems all day which started with the card verification system. Now I can't complete my order. Anyone else had any problems?
