Strange...?! That is an error on their part then so will make sure I flag that up with them. Obviously not reliable at all!
Re: The Nationwide card..I assume I've been accepted as it said I had been. Don't know why they need my ID and not yours? Who knows..!0 -
The exact wording was 'Thank you. We are pleased to confirm that you credit card has been approved in principle.'
Then what happens next - Before they can issue the card they need to see something to confirm my identity and once they have verified this, they will send my account details, new credit card and pin and any internet banking details to my current address.
Do you think this means I have got my card?0 -
I got the same message when I applied. I was a bit confused.
A few days later I received my card through the post. 2 or 3 days after the pin number.0 -
Ahh lovely. That's good news then! Like I say it's not for more spending, it's just for a balance transfer just to give me a bit more time interest free!
Thanks for letting me know)

I got the agreed in principle from Nationwide and a message advising me they will be in touch regarding id, a short time later card through the post with limit and apr as per the soft search. No id check requested. Call them, they will tell you on the phone your limit and apr.0

I have my APR at the advertised rate and my credit limit is more than enough to cover my little BT. I'll just wait to hear from them now then! Thanks0

I may have woken up on the wrong side of the bed, but
(1) No-one has a right to credit, the fact that the credit companies are reviewing your status should be expected, especially if we as a society are to review the mistakes we made that contributed to the recession we are in.
(2) You have a lot of debt on a small income already and you need to sort that out before you take holidays (on, essentially, other peoples money).
(3) Many people earn a lot more than you and have no debt and can't get a credit card, so don't complain when you are referred for review for additional credit.
(4) Making repayments "on time" and "without fail" are the bare minimum requirements of your contractual obligations and should not be used by you as cause for reward and positive review.
Apologies for sounding blunt.0 -

I think you have woken up on the wrong side of the bed.
Firstly I didn't, at any point, throw my toys out of the pram or kick and scream. I simply asked a question that other people may be able to help me with. I didn't expect anything, I was just pointing out it was the first time I'd been refused/referred so didn't know where to go from there.
With regards to my holiday, I have saved every single penny of it and have not put any of it on a credit card. As I pointed out, this new card is not for spending, it is just to get a bit more time interest free which many people do, regardless of salary.
A LOT of people earn a hell of a lot more than I do, you're right. But some of those people who earn a lot more than me are in more, uncontrollable debt than I am with no light at the end of the tunnel. My debt is completely manageable. Despite what you might see as a small salary, I probably save a lot more than people on double what I am on. I'm 22 and I think you'll find I am very responsible with my finances for my age.
If I'm honest, it is responses like that that make me, and other new members not want to post anything. I was only asking a question to see if anyone else had been in a similar situation and could offer guidance. I don't need to be told what I can and can't have and be spoken down to like I am living off of other people. I save hard to clear what I owe and make cash available to have luxuries like holidays. That is my decision. Sorry if I have bitten and taken the bait but this is a forum for advice.0 -
Just an update - just had an email from Barclaycard to tell me my creditcard application has been successful and I have been given a credit limit of £7100!
