New Laptop - which one?

So following up from my last thread about laptop left on train, it hasn't shown up, and I really need to get a new one ASAP.
My last one was a Samsung and I loved it (even though I only had it two months before I lost it!) and it seemed to do everything I wanted it to, expect the speakers were rather naff. I am guessing most laptop speakers aren't great but are some better than others??
So apart from listening to music, internet (no gaming or anything just the usual youtube, facebook a bit of shopping), working from home now and again (so mainly using Office) my needs are fairly basic apart from I do a lot of photography so I'd like lots of storage space (of course I back up often, but I like to be able to find things easily) and be able to use Photoshop or other editing suites quickly and easily, this is where I noticed a big difference between my lost laptop and my old one.
I have up to £400 (perhaps £450 at a push).
Any ideas?
Thank in advance

John Lewis> Toshiba or HP..simples..Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

I did think about replacing it with the same model but I was hoping I could get something with better speakers as this was its only let down.0

A trip to John Lewis would allow you to play and see for yourself before buying. Don't forget JL provide a 2 year guarantee with all laptops (if you can hang on to it that long!)
