Were looking deep into the grocery budget !!!! we love eating bread & drinking milk (too much it seems) we have been getting Warb***ons bread - we can easily go through 2 loaves a day at £1.40 a loaf + bread buns for pack ups etc - we are spending over £36 a week on bread and milk alone , we have a breadmaker somewhere - we need to get it out0

Unfortunately the lads are 6 and 7 months into contracts but that info is useful to know - we went to A**i yesterday and got some bargains - but were surprised to find that with 4 items on our list Sain***ys is actually cheaper than A**i (just)- but it just shows you have to shop around, also Morr****s with staff discount was cheaper in some items - will definitely be worth us doing A**i once a month though.
If you want to saved money never buy everything in one place. I also noticed this about Aldi too. You can easily check prices on the net. I almost always buy by price per kg now. A supermarket classic seems to be label some fruit and veg as the cheapest economy version and sell for £1. If you check price per kg there's usually something on the next shelf that's cheaper than the so called basic one!
Good luck

Will depend on size of your freezer but often cheaper to freeze other items where you can save other margins. Breadmakers are very cost effective. Just takes a bit of organisation.

Recently went on a shoping "de-cost" and switched from Warburtons to Tescos own "basic" bread at 69p per loaf - it actually tastes better !!!0

Try asking for a low-life of balance card rather than a 0% if you don't get this one.... still better than Next's rates.
Good luckSome days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Wanted to say that you have been doing an amazing job (s!) and I take my hat off to you for all your efforts.
Bread and bread rolls get eaten like going out of fashion in this house too. We are family of 4 and spend £70.00 per week on ALL groceries which covers breakfast for 4, pack up lunch for 3 and dinner for 4 each week day and all food at weekend.
If you have a bread maker you may find it worthwhile to make a batch of bread dough then turn it out and shape it into rolls (12 from one batch). Leave them to prove for about an hour somewhere warm then pop in over for 14 ish minutes.
Even Waitrose (my nearest supermarket and I am guilty of shopping there
) own bread is 69p and we stick it in the freezer for using as toast.

£36 a week on bread and milk...Oh my word! We're a family of five adults and I spend around £12 on those things... 4 loaves of bread and some rolls/crumpets/bagels/pittas and 24 pints of milk and I've been told that's excessive.Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame

I dont know if this is any use to you but I have been having pitta breads for lunch, and they are so filling.
You can get 6 large ones from Aldis' for 49p.
What you do is run it under the tap for a second, put it in the microwave for 1 minute exactly, then it opens up lovely and soft to fill.
My daughter loves them.
I fill it with grated cheese, lettuce, cucumber and coleslaw,0
