Congrats to you both. Martin, speaking to your baby via Mrs MSE's baby bump is good for your baby's brain development, but avoid silly voices as your baby won't recognise your voice when she/he comes out. I think you will be an excellent daddy xx

Such an exciting time - congrats to you both.

There's a whole new world of moneysaving for you to now investigate...

    Reuseable vs disposable nappies
    Bottle vs breast
    Sling vs baby carrier
    Second hand vs new
    Travel system vs pram
    Smart car vs 4 seater

All fun that every first time parent has had the fun of discovering their own answers to. Enjoy!

PS: As a London mum, I'm betting Mrs MSE goes for some form of Bugaboo. Most London mums do :rotfl:although, why Bugaboo named their latest offering the Donkey, I don't know. Who thought that was a good idea?!

Breast clearly wins from a money saving perspective. Consider the weight often added during pregnancy. Some of that can be recycled into making food for the baby. There may be other considerations that make it less desirable, though... :)

Shields, nipple pads, nursing bras, creams, extra bedsheet washing + the fact if you want to express you still have to buy all the bottle feeding kit and breast pumps.

And the feeding clothing you may want to buy so you aren't feeling exposed.

It's not the freebie many threads on here claim it is :D Cheaper, yes, freebie, no.

  • I know you are laudibly campaigning for financial education in schools, but how about also introducing either a new site or a part on this site for kids to start the ball rolling? For example, my nephews think the adverts for a certain payday loan company are great, I am horrified by this!

Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")
