Can I freeze white/cheese sauce?

The title says it all really ;)
After being away I had tonnes of milk so I've made a big pan of white sauce.
I also have some cheddar that's getting passed its best so I wouldn't mind throwing that in too.
How long will this last in the fridge or better still, can I freeze it?
Thanks

I've tried in the past but every time I've defrosted it,the cheese solids tend to seperate & it goes grainy..Good luck.

According to my freezer book you can freeze all sorts of sauce. It says freeze in rigid containers, when defrosted, warm through and stir well. Keep for 3 months

I've never tried but my experience of freezing sauces on casseroles is that it works if you've made it with normal flour but needs a lot of stirring and watering down of it's made from cornflour and even then it's not brilliant. There is an explanation, but I can't remember it:o personally I would have frozen the cheese and milk separately for another day.

Do come back and tell us if it works.

Don't want to risk it going funny, it was made with cornflour too.
    Thanks
