How's the NSD going? Ive not spent today either, and I got 78p back from Asda!

My day is much better too, its very quiet here which is not always good, but it does give me more time to play on MSE :D

We've now got a TV in our office so we crowded around the sofa at lunch to watch some tennis and Loose Women. I could get used to that! It beats eating at my desk anyway.

Bargain on the steaks! I love steak and chips, one of my favourite meals nomnomnomnom :D

It 's supposed to create a bit of buzz on our floor because it can get really quiet. Its worked out quite well actually cos people make a point of having lunch breaks now.

Ooo freebies, I might try that out too, they can always say no. There's a few bits I need from Boots but Ive banned myself from that shop because I spend so much money in there normally, so if I can live off free samples. :D:D

This is the thread if anyone can't find it https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1077623

I really didn't want to get out of bed this morning smiley-sleep021.gif I don't think it helped how dark it was outside!! I thought it was supposed to be June? Did I sleep too long and wake up in winter?!

Yesterday morning I could've quite happily turned the car round when I was driving to work, I had a bit of a cry when I did get in. The thing is I actually like my job, and most of the people in my department. We're just short staffed atm so if people are on hols/off sick then it's a nightmare. Two girls are back at the start of July after being on maternity though, so hopefully things will improve.

I'd love another NSD today but OH wants to go to the club to watch footy tonight. It's a bit like a working mens club type of place so at least it's cheap. Problem is that by the time I get in from work and get changed it will be time to go out, so I don't know what he expects me to do about my tea!! He can buy me a burger :rotfl:

Only 1 more get up, can't wait to catch up on my sleep!! Oooh and 5 days til pay day smiley-bounce016.gif

Usually when things like car tax or MOT etc... are due I just stump up the cash. I know things would be a lot simpler if I saved up for them throughout the year, so that's plan number 1. I figure once I've been doing this for a few months, I'll be able to work out how much I can overpay by without leaving myself short.

That sounds familiar! (me too....) I've never budgeted properly:o I did try having a separate account for budgeting in the past but once it got to a couple hundred ... I raided :o I've set up some online savings pots linked to my bank account and have been putting in money each month and touch wood seems to be working so far. It's been tough getting them up and running (eg currently paying car insurance for this year by d/debit & putting money away for renewal time & had to overpay pots to get them to where they needed to be in time) but think I'm getting there!:j

They did get a bit out of hand at one point (think I got to 12 and needed a few more!) so have combined them into 3 (but I do keep track of what's in each individual pot in the big one IYKWIM and *interval while rising runs around touching every bit of wood in the room* :rotfl:seems to be going well.

I managed to pay for my tax, breakdown cover, service & new tyres this year without having to resort to the cc (where it usually ends up!):j

I downloaded an app for my phone that you can track spending on, it seems really good. Only on a free 30 trial though, if I use it every day though I will buy the paid version (£5.99  ) because it will be useful.

If you fancy trying another (and it's free!) have a look at this one
https://www.eebacanhelp.com/login.php - I know quite a lot of people find it really useful.
