Thanks...the "entertainment" is actually car boot sales where we buy stuff and resell onwards. :D We make a small profit on what we sell depending on our finds.

The mobile phones are for two - my husband and I - one is £22 and the other is £25. Car parking...don't get me started. That is rented from the council where I work. The Virgin interest is correct. I negotiated that amount with them otherwise it would have been higher. Marie is a friend who paid off one card for me and I just pay her back. Halifax loan is 26.9% and all the interest was added at the start of the loan. Same with HSBC.

I looked into public transport to work and forget it. My son's nursery opens at 0730 and the way the trains run into my work I will be there after 9am and need to be in by 9am otherwise I am considered late. So, I am stuck with paying for parking and high petrol prices. Once he starts school next year then I can take the train, but not now. Due to other issues, cannot even change his nursery as he has special support in place. In the meantime, I am trying to find work closer to home.

What about any OT at work?
Have you tried the snowball calculator to give you a date to work to?

Is your house really worth £40000 with a mortgage of £85000?

Meant to add we both work FT. We leave at 0715 and do not get home until 7pm. My husband spends 1.5 hours each way to work and mine is 1 hour each way. But, looking at it we have reduced quite a bit this past year. On November 2013 the hire purchase will be paid off, the extra money for a roof to the council will be paid the same month and my leasehold goes down...Cannot wait until 2013 so I can snowball the payments once the OD is paid.

    Ahh, I see :)

You need to put £125 000 in as the gross value.

    ??? Roof?

    (just seen changes above)

I live in a leasehold maisonette and the council decided that the roof needed to be redone to bring it up to current requirements. I am paying my 1/4 share. It was at £56 per month for other repairs to the building they did, but that is now paid off and it went down in April. I so want to get rid of Sky and go to Sky Freeview, but my son is addicted to a lot of the children's programs that is not on Freeview. However, for 1.5 years I negotiated with Sky to get the same package for £11 a month. :) But, it just went up to the regular price.
