Tuesday 5th June - What small DFW things will you do this weekend??!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. :T
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Good Morning all
Back to work for me today, I hope everyone who's still off have lovely days.
Out for dinner later with an old buddy I haven't seen for a while, will just have a main and some water, hopefully keep it at about £10.
Other plans:
* Work hard and prove self (long term money saving - might be asked to act up when the boss is on leave!)
* No food in the house so will have to forage at work for something to eat
* Need to book a few days off work annual leave for a free day at the spa (courtesy of mum) and a free festival (courtesy of OHs work)
* Mr T shop coming later so the cupboards won't keep being peered at like they are owned by Old Mrs Hubbard!!
I think that's about it for me.
Have a good one all

Morning all!
Natlie - good luck for the wedding -I'm sure you'll have a fab time:beer: Congratulations! My advice - don't worry about the little things, everything will turn out fine and if there are any teeny glitches, chances are no one will notice or care! Just get yourself and OH there and the rest will follow!
I'm on half term holidays at the moment (teacher) although I ended up doing 10 hours of schoolwork yesterday - kept me out of trouble at least!
Today's little things.....- Do a few hours schoolwork to try to finish it off
- Clean the house ready for visitors tomorrow
- Phone mum to see if she has a rucksack I can borrow for my abseiling day on Saturday - will save me buying one
- Pop to Mr S to get a few bits for the visitors and use a £4 off a £20 spend voucher - will make it up to £20 with storecupboard and freezer bits if necessary so I don't have to shop again on the weekend
- Walk the dog lots for free exercise
- Try to find some discount vouchers for a meal out with visitors
- Maybe tidy up the front garden if the rain stays away
- All meals from stores
- Checked quidco and will get £40 in the next payment run:j

Hi all!
I've got a rare day off work so I've taken advantage of Ebay's free listing weekend. One sold on Saturday (I listed a few then) and one sold today in 8 minutes as a BIN.
I am going away on a working holiday at the end of June so I need to make a list of everything I need, then try and find it at home first. I know that I'll have to buy steel toe cap boots but hopefully I can rustle up everything else, and I've seen boots for £15-20 at Screwfix. Not too bad!
Weather has been OK so I wanted to do some washing and hang it out but have been told that I'm not allowed to make the garden look messy today!
Apart from that (and listing a few more hopefully) I'm trying not to go anywhere except to the stables later. My parents are having a party (I still live in their house) and my OH is here so it'll be a quiet day.0 -

Well said! You hit the nail on the head!
The Big Small one which made a difference for me, was to stop carrying my debit card around with me! Once monthly wages were in, take off any bills which need to be paid, find out how much is left, divide by 4, and only take out that amount of cash each week. Sorted!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -

Everything is really a work in progress today as I have had a bit of a wobble today due to finances being tight and not being able to see that light at the end of the tunnel and also not feeling too great with this carpel tunnel thingy. The main cause of the wobble is the result of having to listen to BIL going on about his big house in the country yesterday and having to borrow some money of DM.
On a positive note I have not gone on a spending spree and have managed to at least get some things done that were on my list. I think tonight I will put my feet up and watch some television and put things into perspective a bit ready for a fresh start tomorrow morning. OK moan over and sorry for sharing my problems with everyone on here.Aiming to get Debt Free.0 -
Hi all, sorry have missed last few days. Was just about to post yesterday, then dd nabbed laptop. Darned kids.Natlie hope you have an amazing day tomorrow. Relax and enjoy it all, don't sweat the small stuff.
Wannabe01, it's what we're all here for. Don't judge yourself on what you don't have. My sis is on a fortnight's holiday in Greece, they were at butlins for a week at half term. I just tell myself that with her boys they need a holiday :rotfl::rotfl:. And I think it's all on credit which is going to end up biting them on the bum.
Sorry, waffling away. So today:- NSD
- No car day as haven't left the house!
- Played card games with the kids (it's a miracle, I usually pretend I've something else to do but really enjoyed it).
- Meals from stores.
- Made some really lovely scones with dd. best we've managed so far!
Enjoy the rest of the day.:)Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020
