no, its a scam. If they have 'detected' a virus in your folders, why do they need you email username and password? If that was from the email admin, he could just look at your account to get your password.
Anyone who ask for usernames, passwords, account number or anything like that is a crook.
Some of the scammers are so good at faking other peopoles web pages and corporate looks they could make more money just doing web design, instead of wasting there time scamming people.**** I hereby relieve MSE of all legal responsibility for my post and assume personal responsible for all posts. If any Parking Pirates have a problem with my post then contact me for my solicitors address.*****0 -
Sounds like a scam to me, I wouldnt reply to it and I wouldnt click on any link within it either. Why would windows live want to know your password when they would already know it anywayThanx

Is that the typeface used in the actual message? No-one should use Comic Sans if they want to be taken seriously.
Besides, Microsoft's AV solution is called Forefront.0 -

who is your email provider?
looks like you need an email provider with better antispam capabilities.0 -

It's Microsoft Security Essentials. Forefront is the corporate name for the same product0 -

NEVER EVER respond to ANY email that requests a username and password. You shouldn't really open any mail unless you know where it is from anyway - and never click on any links within these mails.
Email headers can sometimes indicate where the email generates from/mail servers used - if it's spoofed mail.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0 -
It starts with Dear Account Owner, and not your name, therefore it is a scam. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Yes, it is a Phishing scam, of course.
But may be worth pointing out that there are no 'dodgy' links in the email, it relies on the user replying to the mail.
The 'From' address will most likely be genuine, but the 'Reply-To' address in the header will be theirs.
They left '!!!!!! Craddock' off the bottom this time, but that's his signature,
Poor old !!!!!!, lol
