Thankyou so much for you really helpful replies Iambroke and cat72.
I will give the lemon aid Benefit a miss and am just going to check out the Clinique eye base you recommend on the Boots web site.

    ALSO...

Re £2 luxury bathing voucher, when I used it from the wrap it went through on all the Soap and Glory range, not just bathing stuff.
I used it on the pack of lip plump glosses and hand cream.

I wanted to ask you bootsers about YSL touche eclat - have you used it and does it really make you look awake...is it the magic wand it claims to be? Im only 22 but some days i feel 92!! Its £23 (cheaper on ebay!) but not sure if Boots sell it and if its any good -

    Comments welcome! X

I was given a demo in Boots by the YSL ladies, and liked the effect, but couldn't justify spending £23.
I later saw an offer on MSE re BuyCosmetics.com I think it was, getting loads of Nectar points, and £25 of freebies. for spends over £10....so treated myself to some TE - cannot remember how much, about half the RRP.

Used it a couple of times, then one morning woke up looking like I had an eye infection. All skin under the eye was all puffy and swollen, took a good few days for it to settle down. I didn't think to connect it to the TE, but every time I used it again the same thing happened !
REALLY annoyed as I had been so impressed by initial results, I had sent off for another one  .

I have had pms from others who have also had a bad reaction, so I would advise to make sure you sample it first a couple of times at least 'in store'. It is an expensive mistake to make if you find you cannot wear it.

If I had bought it in one of the dept stores I may have been tempted to return it, but never thought to send it back to BuyCosmetics.com. Anybody tried to ? - anyway, this was months ago, so probably wouldn't take it now as it was so long ago that I bought it.

By the way, I am an OLD BAG, - won't see my 20's again, so I don't know if that would make me more prone to having an adverse reaction. Cannot say I have ever had a bad reaction to skin products or cosmetics before, and I have used LOADS of diff makes over the years, and cannot afford the REALLY expensive ones.

I got some of the free SS skincare range (from Times mag), so will report back if I have any bad reaction to that.

Just like to add I think Ethel looks FANTASTIC. I see the straightening even cured you eye-sight !! - good old Boots :D

boots are big fat liars-i went in today and no sign of any freebie when you spend £5 on 17 products(i made my sister ask as i didn't want to spend money) so just got a twirl and some coke to console myself-plus i sprayed myself liberally with a new perfume aswell -well actually all over my jacket bag and myself so that made me feel better-my mobile smells nice now!

Sorry i just found this sooooo funny, i'm glad its not just me that consoles myself with chocolate if i can't get a boots fix...and the bit about your mobile had me in stitches....my purse really does smell nice, my b/f got some money out of cash machine the other day and when he went to put it in my purse (well trained, he doesn't own a wallet:rotfl: ) he actually sniffed my purse!

Just noticed on ebay someone selling the lilac bag free gift with a trial perfect & protect, so it looks like theres some in there as well. I didn't get any of these but for those of you who did it might be worth digging them out to check one has sold for £16.

I use the YSL Touche wotsit and had no problems.. then again my skin is as tough as old shoe leather and I rarely have a reaction to anything, lol
I would recommend going into a store and getting a SA to give you a demo how best to use it cos the results are amazing, although I had thought it was pretty expensive crap til she showed me.

Thank you.. takes a lot of slap to look like that tho :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
The hair aint too bad after sleeping on it, had to get a few kinks out from the bedhead but if that's all I have to do then I'm happy :D If only my eyesight was cured.. twas the vanity that made me leave the goggles off :o

Going to straighten my hair this afternoon, fingers crossed can do it all ok. Thanks for the advice ethelbloggs.

You can cure your eyesight - I have, just had laser eye surgery and its the best thing I have had done. Wish I had done it years ago.

oooh good luck!!! You won't need it tho.. tis easy peasy, just time consuming but soooo worth it :D:D:D:D:D

I've thought about the laser eye surgery but not sure if my eyes are compatible with it, cos I've got astigmatism (wrong shaped eyeballs)
