    Exactly.

I'm beginning to feel quite annoyed and harrassed to be honest, shameless. You do this in most of my posts in here. Once again, I appreciate any help and questions but I'm not liking the tone at times.

    Oh dear shameless about cats,

I would have thought with all your degrees and influential friends, and secure IVA, you could have been a little more diplomatic than that.

    Love & kisses

  • Bakeybadoo - I have lost off your story altogether! I thought you were going to go bankrupt jointly?

I haven't made any decision as yet, hence asking lots of questions.

We have no joint debt, I have already said that, so we would be going BR individually if we did take that avenue.

As it stands now, we are still in the process of waiting on Welcome Car Finance before we make any decision. We've sent the voluntary termination letter and hope to have an answer back soon as to whether they will come and collect, when and what will be left to pay back. We need to know that as any outstanding would be included in my husbands BR proceedings.

  • They take forever to do all of this - been there, done that !

They collected my car on 10th January and I have still not got one clue what is going on!

Oh well, I suppose when they want some money they will soon shout!

The most difficult part is in making the decision. Once you have your mind made up there is then a way forward into the future.

A bankruptcy would have to be individually since joint bankruptcies don't exist as such - in the post above I mean going bankrupt together - wrong choice of words!

You could, possibly, do a DMP for your debts on your own, but have your husband go bankrupt. Have you thought of that as an option perhaps?

Welcome are notorious for being lax all around. Kinda nice when we didn't want them to hassle us but bad now we want them to actually do something!

I did get a call today saying the letter had been received and was being dealt with by the appropriate person.

We have spoken about him being made BR but he is quite reluctant (head in the clouds about us being able to pay it all back quite easily but not much use in the financial planning department) although in the past few days, I've made progress in getting through. We compromised and said that we'd wait on Welcome and then make a decision about his affairs.

It would affect his job probably, he's in security and facilities management but we don't think to a huge degree. But it's something, with 2 young children, to seriously consider before taking such a big step.

As for me? Well we are still leaning towards being able to pay mine off since realisitically, they are not unmanageable and I'm not sure I really need a DMP for mine.

It's made easier for us, to sit on making a decision, due to the fact that (luckily) we are not being hounded or chased all that much.
