When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Morning guys  OMG I'm like a kid on xmas eve! All the excitement of the holiday is bubbling away inside of me now! We leave for the airport at 5 :j

So things to do this today before we go:
  • [STRIKE]check banking[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]chop and freeze apples[/STRIKE] chopped a couple & froze them for sausage casserole, chopped some more & froze for a crumble & am in the middle of making a crumble to freeze as had some crumble mixture lo from yesterday ;) also chopped & froze 1/2 an onion
  • [STRIKE]chop & freeze lemons[/STRIKE]
  • freeze bread
  • [STRIKE]do ironing[/STRIKE] & finish packing
  • mop floors
  • all meals from stores
  • collect holiday money at the aiport
  • going for coffee with the outlaws
  • change bedding, wash & hang up

ok think that's all I have left to do :T

Have a great holiday! We go next weekend and although the weather forecast is awful - and we are doing a very MSE camping trip - we are really looking forward to it.

We are at a wedding today. Obviously really looking forward to the day but hoping that its not too expensive for drinks. For once in my life I have bought nothing new to wear at all so quite pleased with myself.

Have a great bank holiday everyone!

Oh booo! totally forgot its a holiday in the UK and now feeling quite sullen at the office...

Had a super dooper MSE weekend - managed to wrangle a consulting gig with another part of the organization I work for, so they are paying me an arm and a leg for a few days of work, including two days over the weekend and tomorrow which I'm taking as A/L and working for them. Much needed after last months MSE disaster.

Wel Jel on your trip, DNMS!!! Have an amazing time.

    Today -
    - Bike everywhere I need to go - will need to gas up tomorrow but seem to be OK for today
    - Work hard as loads on at office
    - research some recipes - my meal planning is getting a bit same-y
    - roommie's mate who has been staying is taking us out to dinner at a v. cheap restaurant - but hey, free dinner!
    - send in docs for anther consuting gig I've been cultivating
    - request back payslips for tax issues
    - maybe gym in eve before dinner, we'll see what time I finish work

    Enjoy your day off, all!

Hello all! Haven't popped in to see you all for ages - I hope you don't mind?

If its OK I'll come back to the fold as I'm going to book a holiday to Cyprus in August and desperately need to get some funds together.
(very jealous of your holiday Determined!)

So my little things for today.....
    • Have decided not to go to BBQ tonight - will save cash on taxis, a bottle of something to take and some veggie stuff to eat (sausages and burgers are no good for a vegetarian!)
    • Have spent 5 hours doing schoolwork today to keep me out of the shops:o
    • Bought 2x 4 packs of Pepsi Max on offer for £1 each at the local Spar saving me £3.60
    • Having stuff out of the fridge for tea to use it up (and not use the oven)
    • Will check bank in a minute
    • Have walked dog twice for free exercise and not used the car at all
    • Will do one wash tonight using the towels to make up a load
    • Have made a plan using up what's in as much as possible
    • Made a shopping list for Weds to use Mr S voucher for stuff for visitors that are staying Weds-Fri
    • Will make some plans for tomorrow that involve having a NSD
Right, I'm off to have a look if there's anything worth watching on the telly tonight - bit fed up of Jubilee stuff now.:o
