Just had a thought - CCCS / Defaults / Experian

I am on a DMP and my estimated debt free date is 2019.

My accounts on experian with Lloyds etc defaulted 2 years ago. Does this mean that in 4 years time (when they drop off file) I no longer have to pay that debt, in effect?

If I am still on the DMP after my defaults are due to drop off, what happens? Do they re-appear on file?
TOTAL OUTSTANDING DEBTS CURRENT BALANCES: Allied International - £3359.61, Blair Oliver & Scott - £1394.65, Lloyds TSB - £211.22, Lloyds TSB - £3125.80, Wescot - £966.25
ESTIMATED CCCS DEBT FREE DATE: April 2019. I aim to be debt-free by 2014 at the latest.

The defaults and all account details will drop off the credit reference agency files. That is true.

Doesn't mean that the debts are payable any more though.

If you stopped paying then while they couldn't record another default etc, they could go to court for a CCJ. If they did that then that would go in a different section on your credit files, be a blacker mark that a default, and stay for a further 6 years.
