Value Group - Award Claim

If I have posted this on the wrong board, then apologies - I believe the following to be a scam, but I would appreciate input from others.
This morning I received a letter stating "please claim your awards", stating that I have been chosen to receive four awards. Attached to the letter are four cheques £75,000, £50,000, £35,000 and £20,000. It states "with these cheques you are guaranteed to receive cash", "guaranteed to be worth at least £1,000" and "guaranteed to receive cash up to £75,000".
To claim I must call the telephone number printed on the cheque - all four numbers are 0906 numbers, and on the bottom of the letter it states "calls to each cheque information line cost £1.50/min from a landline. Calls normally last for 7 minutes".
So major outlay there for a start - four cheques, each with a different telephone number at £1.50 per minute, 7 minutes each call, adds up to a lot of money!
The letter came from Value Group, PO Box 1351, Huddersfield HD1 9ZP, https://www.value-group.co.uk.

PO Box at a fictitious post code, no geographic phone or fax number, it is just possible that perhaps, it may be a scam............
