Dried out sultanas - can they be revived?

I think it would be better in a cake than in mincemeat, 'cos you can soak it first in tea or alcohol, as mentioned above. I wouldn't worry about dried fruit being in date (I don't think I have ever checked tbh
). Sometimes I dry fruit, tomatoes etc myself, and that doesn't even have dates :rotfl:
I always made a point of soaking my fruit in alcohol for several weeks before making the cake - now I've realised what a waste of time that is, when you can just heat it with some liquid in a saucepan for 10 mins! Saves a lot of time, makes for a really moist cake and means more alchol can go in the cake itself.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
