What are the advantages of an early discharge?

sorry to be a bore, I went BR in Jan 2012. had a letter from OR today saying they had finished their investigations & were happy to apply for an early discharge,
I also had to fill in an income/expenditure questionaire,as i am self employed not on a very high income (so not paying any ipa).
What does the early discharge actually mean ?
if i won a lottery prize, got left assets in a will, i would want to pay towards my creditors anyway,
so confused##
BR was for 25K unsecured debts
Thanks for your help

Once discharged, your finances are back under your control, so any money you receive is yours to do with as you want.

Slightly more complicated with wills, because the date of death is relevant, not the date the bequest lands in your account.

So don't start greasing aunty's stairs just yet.

    Thanks for that.
