Sometimes I want to scream ...

I'm having one of those days lol.

Just had a look at my credit card spreadsheet, and this month we will be clearing 'only' 1% of debt of what we started.

I knew that it was coming, but its not nice to see after a few real hard debt busting months. We were really concentrating on getting under £10K :T which we did in Feb, but things have slowed.

I need to g myself up again, its not all bad ...
* still not spent on credit cards,
* I have squirrelled some cash away for the cars MOT and service next month since Christmas so we don't put it on the credit cards as we normally do
* if no nasty surprises in above, I could squeeze enough to pay for car insurance at once rather than installments
* we have cleared 28% of debt since Nov
* we have cleared some debt this month

'tootles off to see what else I could possibly ebay not via the biscuit tin ......'

I agree with BrokenHearted there, since November you've paid off 28% thats absolutely fantastic.

I've been on the site since March 06 and have hardly paid of anything close to your percentage.......

Now I'm having one of those days after that admission!

Please don't have a day CAFCGirl lol you're doing fab on the money for lent challenge!

Feeling a bit better, been out in the garden!

Have gone through credit card statements and did not realise how many we have, even though only 2 now have balances on them. I have phoned and cancelled 2 of them, the rest are in OH name so will get him to do later, or I will write letters. Scary to note how much of a spending spee we could have if we maxed out on them all, probably enough to buy a house somewhere ....

My sister came over for lunch and said she was thinking of getting a loan for her debts ... NOOOOO I wanted to scream, think she has seen sense now lol especially since half is on an overdraft that doesn't cost her anything so why go from paying no interest on a debt to interest. She has now left and is going to phone barclaycard up and see if she can get her interest rate reduced or she is going to BT and close the card down!

    Thank you xx

ahhhh good to see you're spreading the seeds of MSE and sensible thinking to your sis!

Trying not to have a day, and have instead resigned myself to making a brand new spreadsheet and attempting a new budget!!!

I WANT TO BE DEBT FREE!

And just think you've taken temptation out of your path for what? half an hour on the phone cancelling some cards! Well done you xx

As far as i can see so far you are doing fantastically.

Personally i have been having "one of those days" every day since the year started:o

Since i joined last year things have gone nowhere, or so it seems, every positive step, except for the LBM, has disappeared and now a year later we are back at the beginning it seems:rolleyes:

Seems tha whatever you are doing is working extremely well so keep it up :T
