Are razors designed to be used by women better than using razors designed to be used by men?
I use my OH razor blades but have noticed I'm getting a bit sore under the arms & my under arm skin is quite dark (which I hate).
Anyone got any advice or recommendations please.

I just use the bog-standard one-blade gillette, as they're cheaper
and I don't have any problems with them. I don't know what the more expensive, pink-coloured women's razors are like. Possibly they don't cut as well?
Could it be that the mens razors you are using have several blades and they're cutting too close?0 -

I doubt it, how come you lot always use ours?

Well I use the OH new blades, but I make doubly sure that he doesn't use it after me.
I might try the cheaper razors & see if they are better for under arm skin.0 -
i tend to buy whatever is on offer/best value for money. I will happily use the cheapy 2 bladed orange handled Bic razors to do my legs. I think a lot of the result is as much down to technique and taking your time as it is what blade you use. I certainly don't feel that I get a better shave from the scarily expensive womens' razors.
if you do prefer womens' ones, check out places like home bargains to pick them up cheaper, or stockpile when you see them on offerknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Maybe I need to learn a new technique. Just trying to get nice under arms ready for the summer0

Wiki.answers.com says:
"Technically, a female razor tends to have a moisturizing stick on it that makes it a smoother shave, but the razor itself is not as sharp and you do not get the same desired results as a male razor. On the other hand, you get less cuts.
So it takes more time to use a female razor, but you get less cuts and a smoother shave."
Not sure if that's true, though I did read somewhere years ago that women's razors aren't as sharp, can't remember where!0 -
I just started using a freebie mens razor that was supposed to be for my partner ( can't remember what its called without going to bathroom ) but its great, smoothest bikini line yet !!0

I have a venus Gillette for women and after running out of blade just as the boiling weather came in, used the boyfriend Gillette exit with a new set of his blades. Fantastic smooth shave, bug more ingrown hairs / shaving rash later on! I've read recently that, by shaving with 4 blades, it damages the skin and hairs much more!0

Is it the Wilkinson Hydro 5 one from the Freebies section? If so, I got it too! I was actually wondering the same thing about the difference between men and women razors.0 -
