How to beat the bailiffs

If they tried to come into my house and take my dogs, who yes are pedigree boxers, they would get a rather large bite on the @$$ in return. Would they be able to prosecute me for this? as the dogs would just be protesting at being dragged away from their family !!0

The idea of baliffs scares me to death and for that reason i am now glad i have not seen the show you are on about. Personally it seems they have far to much power. Instead of frightening and judging these shows should give more practical advise.Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash

watched it this morning - was horrified. however the solution offered to the couple was very brief. should have been more detailed to help people understand budgeting better0

I've not seen any of the current series but saw some of an earlier one.
I thought it's real trash daytime TV - no real depth of anything, just a bunch of desperate people being pushed around by a snippy presenter and a thuggish looking bailiff (I know I'm being judgemental here). The programme is not designed to offer people any real help just to entertain people at home in the daytime. I thought it was horrible...Retired in 2015.

I watched this this morning too..... horrified the skin off me, which, I think it's supposed to do, but why do they have to show this program in the mornings?? Theres already the Jeremy Kyle show etc etc etc if you want to watch people airing their dirty laundry.DFW Nerd no 239.....Last Personal Debt paid off Nov 2012!

Seen this program myself and was sickened by it. I'm lucky enough not to be in that position, but the young couple in the episode I seen had £48k of debt (inc £15k loan for their wedding) The things they took would have got approx £800 at auction, minus the £400 fee for the bailiffs and £250 for the auction company, which would have knocked £150 off their debt......so, why bother !! The only people benefitting from this is the bailiffs and auction houses....disgusting program I think.0

I think if it stops people living above their means then that's a good thing and maybe the reality will sink in. A lot of the people on there seem to have been reckless and spending money on keeping up with the Jones's and fancy holidays. Ovviously it doesn't apply to everyone but maybe it will shock people into dealing with it. They also mention Payplan as well.Making my money go further with MSE :j

I haven't seen the programme but since coming on here and reading about Bailiffs, I've been constantly thinking about how I would keep them out of my house. And my plan is : I would leave the house through my back door locking it behind me and then going to the front and greeting the bailiff. (Yep - I think too much because it ain't going to happen atm! Lol)
It isn't a funny issue - my father has done the job and says it was one of the worst experiences in his life (second only to going to Iraq, although that was also one of the best) He said he hated seeing the families crying and putting labels on everything leaving them with very little. I couldn't do it.
