Today I looked through the post and my heart sank seeing that there was a letter from one of the DCA I have a debt with.
Should have seen the smile on my face when it said
"Thank you for maintaining your monthly payments. Clearly uyou are committed to clearing this debt......."
Then offering me a F&F settlement discount.
I know its a standard letter - but it makes me so proud that everything is getting sorted.

That's great news. Can I ask a question though? I have seen posts about F&F's, but just wondered.. if people are struggling to make minimum payments towards their debts, then how come they can afford to pay a lump sum as final settlement?LBM - 18/5/120

Maybe they've had the debt for a while and now are in a better position. Maybe they have a bit extra cash every month as since interest has been frozen and only making token payments, as well as living more frugally (for some people) mean more money in their pockets.
But not everyone can afford full and final payments.0 -
I agree with Sharon on that - its going to be a long time until I can offer F&F but bonus from work, pay rise, christmas/birthday money can all go towards doing this xOfficial DFD: Dec 29Challenge DFD: July 23Debts Cleared: 1/13Building EF: £20/£600 3%0
