Paid Annual Leave

My OH is about to start a new job as a contractor i.e. working for himself as a ltd company however working for a firm.
He seems to think he won't be paid for any annual leave he takes, but I think the company have to pay him 20 days per year.
Does anyone know if this is correct?
Thanks in anticipation.

Well it depends on the T&C's of his contract, but in my esperience of IT contracts it would be very unusual to get paid holidays as a contractor.
Also, it may (I'm no expert) effect his tax position as contractor.0 -
If he's a ltd company working for a firm, no they dont have to pay him any holidays at all. His own firm (himself) will need to give him paid hols.
PS Lorian is right btw - if the firm paid him hols it would throw doubt on his position as a contractor. Could jeapordse tax stuation.0 -
Don't see the point anymore in offering advice to people who only want to be agreed with...0 -
He is his own employer and therefore it is up to himself (as his boss) if he thinks he should get paid holiday or not.
As a contractor he will be charging a rate either per day or per project and that needs to cover all his costsAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
