Underwriting?

My wife has just applied for an unsecured loan that has been passed to the underwriters. I was just wondering; what happens in this process? Will she be credit checked again now that it's passed to the underwriters? As we have a joint mortgage, if I now apply for an unsecured loan while hers is still at the underwriting stage, will my application hamper her chances of getting her loan? (Hope that makes sense!)
Thanks in advance!

They will go through her credit report with a nit comb as thin as a pin and any descrepencies will be looked at, they will also go through your credit report with comb.0 -

Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0
