Electoral roll - when does it update with agencies

Hi all

My Husband and I have just moved back into a property which we used to rent out. We want to do it up and sell.

I made sure we completed a form which we sent to the Council to get us on the Electoral Roll. This was back in April.

Yesterday I tried to order my credit file with two different agencies, but was told online that I could not be verified at the address. I called the Coucil and was told that my Husband and I would be on the Electoral Roll on Friday 1st June.

My question is this: How soon is this change received by the Credit reference agencies? I want to get my file as we're hoping to sell and move out.

    Normally ....

If received/processed by 15th of month 1, on first working day of month 2

If received/processed after 15th of month 2, on first working day of month 3

I suspect you submitted after 15th April and I would expect your data to reflect in the credit agency responses on/around 6th June

I moved into my new address in April and completed paperwork to be added to the electoral roll. I too received confirmation that I would be on there as of 1st June. I checked my credit file with Experian this morning and it's changed already.

Perhaps you got in just in time for the April update. We try to get these updated as quickly as possible. Seems strange now that until a few years ago the electoral roll was only updated once a year!
