Asda Smiley Squad Vs Tesco Raincheck

Options
Most of us already know about the Tesco raincheck, when there is a product on offer that is sold out, you can ask for a raincheck voucher to buy the product at a later date, at todays offer price (even if the offer isn't on any more).

Today I was shopping in Asda. I just went in there for some of the current offers like Charmin toilet roll at £1. It was out of stock.

I asked the checkout operator if they done anything the same as Tescos raincheck. She asked me what it was I wanted to buy that was out of stock and she gave me a £1 Smiley Squad Asda voucher (which means if I go back to the store tomorrow, I can get a pack of Charmin for free, or use the voucher against my next shopping).

It's something worth keeping in mind, next time you are in Asda :T

Has anyone else had a smiley squad voucher?

Sainsbury's have given me a special coupon or something like that a few times - works the same way as tesco's Raincheck. Worth remembering if something on offer is out of stock :D

I also work in Asda and hand out smiley vouchers like they go out of fashion (only for good reasons) and have never got into trouble for it. Dont think twice to smiley a bunch ofchep flowers if a customer has had a bad experience in store.

    Each store is different though.

Certainly worth asking a colleague if there is something that is out of stock etc

  • Im a greeter at ASDA in Bolton and today i gave out over £6 on smiley vouchers i give em out to get out of any situation lol (mostly when we have no disabled scooters left and some1 wants 1 i send em to get a free brew in the cafe) lol

Im was only 16 when i started the job but 17 now so i like to be generous! (youngest greeter ever...probably) All the other collegues in the store have £1 per week but i use up to £30 being a greeter lol i never got into trouble for using them. If anything my managers encourage the use of them.

Last year I tried to use a £1.00 Quick Read book voucher ( though I didn't buy a book). the voucher scanned, then the assistant said she was going to cancel it, so I asked to speak to a supervisor.
Supervisor said, I hadn't bought the book, so the voucher wasn't valid. I pointed out it must be valid as it had scanned, to no avail. Then I stood there and asked to speak to the store manager...
Another supervisor came across, cancelled the voucher, tore it up and gave me an Asda £1.00 voucher instead by way of apology.
This was even better, as next time I went into a different store I used another book voucher and the Asda £1.00.
