St Andrews mortgage cover ???help

Hi hoping some one can help and point me in the right direction.
When i got my first mortgage with the halifax we were told that we had to take out cover to be accepted. The was provided through halifax by a company called St Andrews. We have been paying this month by separate direct debit. Un fortunately I can no longer find any of the documents relating to this.
Did cancel direct debit a few years ago and received a letter telling us that if we did not reinstate they would inform our mortgage provider so stupidly restarted.
How do I go about getting my documents pertaining to this to see if i have a valid claim or not???
Thanks in advance for any replies:)

Ask Halifax. What is your claim reason? (unemployment, sickness etc)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
