Have you ever been bankrupt question - even on letting agents forms

Hi,

I just found out today that most lettings agents ask "have you ever been bankrupt?" on the application form, which of course I would answer yes to. I did not realise this was going to be the case. I thought it would only be asked for mortgages.

It has been 6 years after my BR, and it has dropped off my credit files. Credit files cleaned up.

So what's the situation for someone like me? Are they going to make it difficult to rent even after a BR over 6 years ago, asking for a guarantor, 6 months rent in advance etc?

Hi Izzy, I'm afraid that is one of the consequences of BR

If any forms ask "are you bankrupt" you say no, if it asks "have you ever been bankrupt" then you have to answer yes.
