They are interviewing a customer who has one, but it's being presented as if nobody knew about this problem before.

    ... but isn't this how they present more or less everything?
    (Apart from items that are glaringly obvious and generally accepted as common knowledge such as night follows day).

    Otherwise they'd have people saying that they presented it as if everyone knew about the problem; alienating those because they were made to feel ignorant, and making the presenters feel less worthy because they were preaching to the converted.

    This way round, at least those for whom it's old news can feel 'one-up' for having already known!
