Hi
I've sent of for my credit files so I can start the clean up process, hopefully will be straight forward.
I have always kept any correspondence from my creditors, like statements, credit agreements and other stuff so I can have proof.
I have about 10 years worth of paperwork, which is taking a bit of space:)
As part of my "fresh start" I don't want to be reminded about the past.
Now that I am discharged would it be safe to destroy all this?

I shredded most of my old financial paperwork once I was discharged - bank statements, card statements, cheque book stubs, utility bills, old insurance documents, wage slips - basically anything that I didn't need anymore.
I kept a few bits and pieces. I also kept all of the paperwork relating to my collapsed business which has to be retained for 6+1 tax years (apart from public liability insurance documents which have to be kept for 25 years :eek: ).
I found it rather therapeutic (my shredder did not agree and constantly needed to have a lie down to catch its breath), although it did take ages.VSP Challenge 2014 #??? - £9.970 -
I would keep one letter from each creditor so you have a record of account numbers, addresses etc, in case anything come up laterHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
