Leaf Blower / Garden Vac ?

Guinea pig hutch shavings, debri etc all down the garden and on the lawn. I think a garden vac might help to keep it tidier. Anyone use one or recommend a model? If I could use it to pick up hedge trimmings too then that would be a bonus.
I know of someone who uses one to dry his motorbike after a wash. Thats 3 things I could use one for!
Anyone recommend one? Or do they fail to live up to expectations?
