I know which I'd rather be.
I wouldn't have had such a go if you hadn't tried to pin the blame on your daughter's mobile charger for 5KWh of electricity.0 -

No you shouldn't, you should eat hemp seeds and felafel off dirty plates like a proper greenie!0 -
According to my spreadsheet I've used on average 3.9 daytime units and 13 night time units each day. No gas, all electric with economy 7 heaters.Happy chappy0

I can't understand why, when you obviously don't understand anything about electricty, you persist in posting such silly information; especially when you have been gently told that you are posting rubbish.
Surely the point of this forum is to give people accurate information?

So how many baths/showers do you have?
probably one bath each a week
We don't have a tumble dryer and we have one electric heater that only gets used about an hour a week (when we are doing something in that room as it gets very cold in there)
I've been on at dh to put a timer on the immersion, so I'm just going to experiment and start putting it on for 2 x 1 hour sessions a day I think as I cannot understand where all that electricity is going!!

If there is no timer at all on your immersion heater and it's currently on all the time, it sounds like a likely culprit to me0

I'm still using 20 units a day. This seems like quite a lot to me and I really don't know what else we can do to cut back.
If anyone would share their info, I'd find it helpful to know of your average daily usage with figures like number of people living in your house, perhaps size of house and if you have gas as well for cooking, heating or water.
We are:
20 units daily
3 of us living here (2 of us at home all day)
4 bedrooms
electric only, but using wood for heating.

20 units a day(in winter) in an all electric 4 bedroomed house is very low.0 -

It's not on all the time. Immersion heaters are thermostatically controlled.
The immersion heater will only be on when the water in the tank is not hot enough.0 -

Hi, we are 2 adults, 2 small children (one in nappies) in a 3 bed end of terrace. We have gas, (i'll check useage later) and since my elec reading last week, we have used 54 units, which averages 7.7 a day. No habits have been changed; hubby still leaves switches on, bathroom light is left on all night for children (energy saver tho), dishwasher and washing machine on at least once a day, sometimes use tumble drier, although i try to hang as much out as possible. Elec bills have been working out about 86p a day with Ecotricity.Buy nothing for a month challenge - Oct
