Help with covering horrible upper arms :(

I have always had a problem with my upper arms, never been able to wear sleeveless tops/dresses etc. However, since losing 7 stone they are even worse! Instead of being flabby, they are basically empty sacks of skin - you can see where my actual arm is and then there is about 4 inches of skin hanging down :( The doctor won't help me, saying the NHS doesn't cover 'cosmetic procedures' even though they are really heavy & get sore. (Funny that the NHS were prepared to spend a stupid amount of money to give me a gastric bypass 2 years ago though hmmm - I didn't have it btw, I just did low fat food & exercise :)) Anywho, I tend to get all ranty about that so I should be quiet about that now lol
Does anyone know shops that do nice tops that have sleeves (down to the elbow, the short sleeved tops still reveal hanging skin)? I am sooo fed up traipsing around shops trying to find something to wear in this heat. It all seems to be no sleeves at all or long sleeves :(

Thanks xx

I have a similar problem but haven't lost all of the weight yet, still hate my upper arms though! Simply Be have some awesome tops, I got a few yesterday & everything is totally covered while the top itself is cool. They have 20% off online for new customers too right now I think

I am exactly the same, I lost 13 stone and my upper arms are horrific. I too struggle with tops and tend to wear cardigans and boil in them. I have a few sheer tops which I wear with a vest underneath. We have a few weddings coming up and I'm struggling to find any suitable dresses.

if the extra skin is actually causing you pain as it's getting sore, surely that moves it away from being a cosmetic problem only? don't they do breast reductions on the NHS if you're in physical pain, same sort of thing IMO. might be worth getting an opinion from another doctor or perhaps asking the question on weight loss forum, hopefully someone might have some experience.

very well done on the loss & doing it all under your own steam instead of having an op. i've lost 4 stone & have got about the same to go again i'm guessing. i'm losing quite slowly & exercising so my 'excess skin' isn't too bad at the moment.

i've bought a couple of kaftan/kimono style tops recently as they've got lots of arm room & aren't too hot in this weather.

hope you get something sorted :)
