Advice - Halifax Mortgage

Hi, This is the first time I have posted on here, but I am looking for some advice.
I have applied to the Halifax for a FTB mortgage, and have a 20% deposit. I received a DIP from the Halifax - where they had done a Full credit search (I know they only usually do a soft footprint!). I passed the credit search fine - even though I had a default on file which was registered 14 months ago, for £201. I had already disclosed this to them in my application.
Despite all this, my application has now completely stalled and has been passed to the "business assesors". What does all this mean?! In the meantime, they had taken the money for the valuation and completed it!
How likely are Halifax to give me a mortgage offer? My credit record is completely clean other than this, paying off credit card in full every month etc.... Really worried as I have found and house and now spent the money on a valuation!

This means it is being assessed by the underwriters, usually if it's a no they will have this decision prior to the valuation being completed but not always and if they say no now you can kiss goodbye to that.
