Hope your friend didn't go with Platform?
they are a premium rate lender for those with adverse credit history or who may find it difficult to get a mortgage with main-stream lenders.
I have had my mortgage with them for 10 years, and they have made my life a living HELL.
I had planned to change from them when I managed to raise my credit score but long-term intermittent illness totally ruined my plans, and lets just say, they were far from accommodating! Despite always overpaying when I was in employment, when I become ill they were after me like a shot. been in court for re-possession many times for just £700 arrears!!!
Even the judge said how un-realistic and un-bareable they are0
