NHS Dental Cost - Scotland

Any idea how much 1 or 2 'surgical extractions' (lower molar and pre-molar) in the surgery (not hospital) would cost on NHS in Scotland?

I was so excited I forgot to ask at the time :T

Between £30 and £37 per tooth not including x rays.

I'll have to hope it's just the one tooth then :-(

"Excited"????? I would have been crying with fear ... and that would be at the pain and the cost.

Oh no, I've wanted this tooth out for about 20 years. :rotfl: :rotfl: It's now fillings on top of fillings, with more fillings round the sides to hold the middle fillings in place. As the fillings need minor repairs every couple of years, I'll probably save the cost of the extraction quite quickly :money:

And the alternative was a rather awkward Root Canal treatment that might not save the tooth anyway.

£14 for one tooth pulled. :) Will have to go back to the other surgery to find out if I owe anything there.

And it didn't hurt a bit - just hoping it won't hurt too much when the anaethsetc wears off.

£14 is not a surgical extraction fee its around the fee for an ordinary extraction. Glad it went well.

A lot better than £70 which is what I was dreading paying!

Only drawback is I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms as no hot drinks for 24 hrs and I'm a tea addict.

It took some pulling though - I'm not going to try DIYing the next one I want out.
