Not sure if CCCS have mentioned this but you might want to send them a £1 postal order in the meantime while your DMP is being set up. It will show them you are making attempts to repay the debt.

Remember, try and get the new bank account set up asap so they can't get their filthy hands on your money

hi lucylong1..I have a dmp with cccs. They are very understanding and helpfull and I have phoned them with the daftest questions, but nothing seems too much trouble and they explain step by step, so dont worry. We have been paying cccs for a few years and will be debt free from june 2013. Also have you looked at seeing if you can claim back any PPI. I got quite a lot of debt paid off this way. Have CCCS given you a reference number? You can quote that to any of your creditors and it usually holds them off for a month which gives enough time to get your DMP up and running.

Also agree with 925pws in paying a token amount just to show you are willing to start paying back the debt while your DMP is being set up.

Now that you have told them you are with CCCS the Debt Collection Guidelines (that most lenders have signed up to even the PayDay scum) they HAVE to hold off for a month.

Even if they don't hold off all your going to get is Threat o grams that are spewed out by a computer or phonecalls from some numpty.

All you have to do is file the letters for now and when the phone rings say "i'm with CCCS/Payplan and my reference number is XXXXX or I am awaiting my reference number" and say goodbye. Thats it, no prolonged conversations NOTHING.

Pay all your creditors a token if you want - £1 each nothing more - by Postal Order. Send it registered post so you have proof.

Nothings going to happen in the next few weeks apart from empty threats of taking your house/child/dog in payment so don't worry.

Your doing the right thing and it will take a few weeks to settle down, but settle down it will.
