The last time I saw this many people in tracksuits in London they were setting things on fire and stealing televisions.

Can't say I was a great fan of Next clothes anyway, but the outfits, they have seeded Team GB in for the opening and clothing ceremonies haven't been such a great advert (IMO of course).

I like Elbow. Best live act so far I think.

I'll second that! I quite like the playlist so far.

I saw Stomp years ago when they were called Pookiesnackenburger. Had their own TV series IIRC.

I've been forced to raise my impression of London. I was worried they couldn't be trusted to run a bath, let alone a global sport festival. I envisioned a million ways it could have gone wrong and was watching between my fingers. Needn't have worried - it's been a class act!:)

I saw Elbow - didn't know much about them at the time - when they supported U2 at Wembley. I thought they were better than a band I'd waited half my lifetime to see.

Of course they were, because U2 are awful. That Bono is even more repulsive than Billy Bragg.

If this overruns, do you thinks some noise abatement bloke from an obscure London borough will come along and turn the microphones off?

That sounds a bit like my evening, 'cept I'm by myself.
We normally watch wall to wall Will & Grace (if there's no ballet/opera/whatever on).... he's recorded every one ..... so tends to have 4-6 on in a row.
