A Nice Family came to visit me today. We all had fun and it was lovely to see them. (They brought Jaffa cakes too!
)
I showed them my house and we talked a bit about how it's been extended already and my plans for how I want to change it eventually. They seemed to like my house, and I enjoyed showing them round. The under-10s bounced on the trampoline, and everyone played with the hamster. DD had baked chocolate buns, which went down well.
The direction they had come from meant that they had driven through the "village" on their way to my house. (It was a village 100 years ago but has long since been swallowed up by the expanding town.) I think they experienced a posh alert as they drove along - they said they hadn't realised I lived in a place like this!Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

So, with silvercar, there are at least three NPs with a trampoline. Got to figure out how to dismantle ours. Kids growing up too fast.
I live in a "village" too but we're far too swallowed up in London. It's a bit posh too but our last house was in a gated street and looked ten times better. (That link wasn't our house but a similar one in the same area, obviously). There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

"Some people clear the larvae from the cheese before consuming while others do not."
And some NP would clear the cheese straight out of the house. Is there a puking smiley somewhere?
When in Portugal, we had some lovely runny cheese that you scoop out from the top - no larvae, thank goodness. Forgotten what it's called, unfortunately.
Obviously made from Milk of Amnesia. The magic ingredient must be rohypnol so don't have any more!:DThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I only have the under £10 a bottle so i'm probably at the rougher end
.
Surprisingly not, Oyster Bay is a very drinkable NZ Sauv Blanc and is usually well under £10 a bottle in Tesco.
I picked up a cheap bottle of a brand I'd never head of in Oddbins for £6 the other week, and it was a bit rough around the edges. But generally anything £8-10 from New Zealand will be good enough for most occasions.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Our trampoline is used by the kids for sunbathing and as a base for eating take away food (when i turn into a witch and shriek that their smelly take aways are not coming in the house). The little nieces and nephews often use it as a den and crawl underneath.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I've not been on a trampoline, except once about 8 years ago when I went to a trampoline night at the sports hall.... which involved queueing for ages, then going on for 2-3 minutes, then queueing for ages again.... I went on 3x in the end I think. I nearly hit the ceiling, which was scary
School didn't have one and people didn't have them back then. And I don't know anybody with one. And they're bigger than my garden/s have been and I'd not buy one just to go on it a few times.
I was always very interested in trampolining..... it was just not accessible as a sport.0 -

I've seen public trampolining at the seaside, I think Bournemouth and Blackpool have them. Sets of 20 or so trampolines where you can have 5 minutes for £1.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. We have a trampoline too.....it just sits there now looking forlorn.
Back from holiday yesterday, very tired today as the rushing around yesterday was far too much but still have to go and collect the cat from the cattery in a short while.
As soon as we arrived home, James got his bike off the back of the car and off he went to work, literally, we arrived home and 10 minutes later, he was cycling down the road! Nothing had been arranged but he had been getting ever more stressy texts from a work colleague plus he wanted money so he could go out last night, that he went down and chanced his arm...he managed to fit in 6 hours work before it closed, so he was very very happy.
My boyfriend/loveerrr (said in a Cornish accent), came to visit the caravan 3 times while we were there and we had a lovely day on the beach on Friday. The kids seem to like him and have accepted him, as has his son me.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
TheProfessionalShopper's 10/12 (not sure) foot trampoline with enclosure was £97 from Asda 2 years ago and so far is going strong although you can't bounce nearly as high as you can on the big retangular ones at the sports centre but this np is too old for jumping on trampolines anyway.
I have recently read the 3 hunger games books (thanks to a very nice person) and really enjoyed them, only took about 7 commuting days and I was able to rediscover my inner teenager
Next random book off the shelves is Les Miserables part1 which I think I am going to struggle with, for a start there are about 4x as many words on each page as the hunger games and I notice this is book one of about 5I think....0
