The downsides are: [1] You will smell of horse for a week [2] You have to shovel the shiite in the stable as payment.

But you won't be told those until it's too late and you're there :)

You get used to it after a while. Like nappies.

In fact, imo, with horses its not that that is offensive, its the piddle. If only they had great big bags to pee in.....

Plus, you have the advantage of not being in an enclosed area :)

I'd love that as my workplace....I could smoke like a chimney :D

    Oh....there's hay

I finished Of Mice and Men tonight and got it into my head I'd like to read a synopsis of the book. Having done so, I was amazed to find out that it has been - even in the last decade - one of the most challenged/banned books in America.

In the UK libraries try not to censor. However they may choose not to buy rather than ban. Try looking for a copy of Tin Tin in the Congo and you'll see what I mean. I'm not convinced that's a bad thing btw as it does contain some very negative stereotypes. But the number of books in the US... and the breadth of the selection. It's really surprising.

Here's the list if anyone wants to have a look:
    http://www.ala.org/advocacy/banned/frequentlychallenged/challengedbydecade/2000_2009

And here's an insight into who's challenging the book and on what grounds:

Culturally I think the view of libraries in the UK and their role is quite different to that in the USA.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I remember those two Judy Blume books going round our entire class at school - as soon as someone finished it, the next person went to get it out from the school library!
