Application Form. Reason for leaving.

Hi.
I was wondering if anyone has any advice on what to put on an application form.
I posted a thread previously about my former employer taking me to court for allegded theft.
I was sacked for Gross Misconduct in Sept last year. I was found not guilty in court in May.
I am currently looking for work and really don't know what to put as the reason for leaving.
Should I put Dismissed for Gross Misconduct but later disproven in court or would it be better to put something else.
I am looking to apply for a clerical job with the NHS.
Any help would be much appreciated.

If you were found not guilty i personally wouldn't mention it.
Just put something like 'looking for new challenge' or something like that.DEBT FREE AND PROUD

Much as I hate to say it, not mentioning it won't work. Apart from the fact that most employers - and definitely the NHS - would be looking for a last employers reference. And I hate to say this even more, but being found not guilty by a court of a criminal offence is not the same thing as being cleared of gross misconduct - the burden of proof is much lower for an employer. Why didn't you take them to a tribunal? That would have totally cleared your employment record in a way that couldn't be questioned. So I am afraid that my advice would have to be - left for reasons I am willing to discuss in person at interview. I think that the truth is the only way to go.0

Thanks for the replies. I would not leave it off completely and will probably go down the route of "willing to discuss at interview"
I did start the process for a tribunal but the court case was my main priority and due to the stress involved I decided that I could not deal with both at the same time (tribunal hearing would have been the week after my court case).
Also I applied late for the tribunal as I thought it was 3 months from date of my appeal not my dismissal. I will talking to an employment solicitor as it would now seem that all this was caused by a system error on the computing system in place.
Once again many thanks for your replies.0 -
