Santander Mortgage

Options
Ok then the situation at the moment?

1. The Euro is going to collapse.

2. If then Santander (spain then were to collapse, which it is possible).

3. By some remarkable situation allows, (Santander Uk, were to go under).

4. Santander Mortgages/Loans would then be sold.

If in this ridiculous instance would I be able to purchase my mortgage from the former Santander Uk, at a discount?

Are you a financial institution? If not, then nice thought, but no. :)

My mortgage is with Santander and whilst I think it's higly unlikely that Santander UK will go bust, if the mortgage debt IS sold, it will be sold as is and the terms of contract, debt level, interest and repayments remain the same until the end of the fixed term.

It's got me thinking though. If they do show signs of wobbling, perhaps they'd think about selling my mortgage to me at a loss. Not sure they'd accept my offer of a fiver though :rotfl:
You had me at your proper use of "you're".

Santander can sell your mortgage at any time they like. To who they like

As with the mortgages that Bank of Ireland sold to The Mortgage Works. Mortgage holders very quickly found themselves paying a higher rate of interest.

So be careful what you wish for.

Just another thought, with my first post, if I were to venture down this route if points 1-4 happen or even points 1-3 with the possibility of point 4.

Then what percentage of outstanding value would be likely to be accepted?
