Student Loan - Scotcall

Hi I've been really stupid in head buried in the sand type way. Student loan co were ringing me all the time about my debt, then they referred it to someone else & they rang daily & left messages, now I've had a letter saying it's been referred to Scotcall and they are threatening that balifs might come round. Am in no position to start paying back debts yet. Mental health probs stopped me dealing with it in the first place and now I'm scared...

Relax, Scotcall are NOT bailiffs, they are just a DCA (debt collection agency). Bailiffs cannot be sent until your creditor has gone to court and obtained judgment against you, then you'd have to fail to make the agreed payments into your CCJ for them to go back to the court to ask for a warrant of execution to enforce the CCJ, only after this has been granted can bailiffs be sent so they're basically just trying to scare you.0

I may be wrong, but I don't think Scotcall are bailiffs.
If you can't pay them back now, and the debt is not barred, you could offer a tokenpayment untill you get back on track.0 -
Hi there and welcome to the forum NewLife
You don't say when the debt originated? Could you confirm this and it might be easier to offer a little more advice on how to deal with it (if at all) for the time being)?
We second endora's comments by the way.
