Tenement flat - internal building works

I have a tenement flat in Edinburgh with 1.5 bedrooms. It's 0.5 because whilst the room is around 9'x9' there's a cupboard about 3.5' square projecting into the room which makes it difficult to fit even a single bed into it due to things like doors and windows.
This cupboard has a solid wall which I suspect is load bearing but if removed would mean I could use the full room.
So, has anyone had something similar and knows approximate costs for it and/or what the rules would be covering it as I assume I would have to get a Building Warrant.
