Barclay Loan Debt

Hi All,
I need some advise. Many years ago I got into alot of debt but since then I have been reducing my creditors and now only have barlcay loan that I owe £3850. I wrote to barclays offering them £800 as a full and final settlement, I've since had a reply rejecting the offer but they would accept £1,097.00 as a full and final settlement aslong as it's recieved by the first of June. after recieving this letter I then made another £55 payment to this account. My problem is as I've lost my job and now have no income I have only managed to get £1010 and I know it's only £87 but I just can't get that last bit.
Does anyone think they would accept or should I call them and see

Ring them advising you have lost your job (this will get their alarm bells ringing). Then advise that you can only afford £1,010. Giving the prospect of not getting any further money off you (due to job situation) they should be more than happy to accept the £1,010 (mention that you have just paid another £55 so you are effectively paying them £1,065 since their offer).
However, please ensure everything is followed up in writing!Debt at Start of DMP in October 2009 - £45,000

^^agree with above. Good luck with them, and with finding a new job,Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

You could also turn the tables on them and make your offer time-limited, because having lost your job you will shortly need the money to live on. I think they will have your arm off for it.

Thanks for the support! I called them and they have reduced it to £1039. Suppose its better than £1097 :-)0
